In the management of Sexually Transmitted Disease(STD),contact tracing is most important and the knowledge of sexual partners engaged in the transmission of STD is fundamental. In this regard the medical records of the 5002 STD patients at the
Venereal

@EN 1) As the source of infections for 5002 patients, the so called 'high risk group' comprised 72.5%, which includes prostitutes 33.6%, hostesses 22.0%, and call 17.0%.Girl friends, acquaintances, casuals, wives and bargershop girls accounted
for
9.9%,
4.1%, 3.6%, 3.3%, and 1.3% respectively Compared to the result of previous study, from 1979, increase is marked in girl friends from 4% to 9.9%, and wives from 2.1% to 3.3%, while slight decrease is noted in 'high risk group' from 84% to 72.5%.
2) As for the age of patients, the mean age was 27.2 years, and 83.5% of patients belonged to the age group of 16 to 30. In patients under 21 years of age which comprised 8.1% of patients, prostitutes were revealed as the sources of infection in
53.7%
of the cases.
3) Previous STD history was 0.94 times the average, with a relatively high score in the group considered to be infected from wife(1.36) and the barbershop girl group(1.06).
4) At the infective contact, some 40.2% of the patients practiced oral sex. In particular, barbershop girl group practiced oral sex most frequently(73%), and the wife group in the least(17.9%).
5) Nongonococcal urethritis(NGU) comprised a statistically significant high percentage of STDsin wife group(70.6%) and the incidence of postgonococcal urethritis rate was also the highest in
wife group(57.1%).
